‘Battleship’ stars star talks to Us Weekly about playing the lead in ‘The Avengers’
The cast of Battleship has been cast in a role that will likely make him one of the first stars to play a lead in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Kevin Spacey is being eyed to play the lead role in the film’s fifth installment, which will be released on May 3, 2019.
The story is based on the book “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” by Chris Evans and Sam Wilson, and stars Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Nick Fury, Michael B. Jordan as Agent Phil Coulson, Elizabeth Olsen as Agent Melinda May, Chris Evans’ Agent May as Hawkeye, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton, Daniel Bruhl as Erik Selvig, Jeremy Piven as Erik Prince, and Elizabeth Olsen’s Valkyrie.
A second film will be set for release in 2021, with the third film being expected to be released in 2019.
In addition to Spacey, other actors to have starred in the films are Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Bradley Cooper, James Badge Dale, Michael Keaton, Anthony Mackenzie, and Sebastian Stan.
